Tomato       Applied Art & Design

Japan telecoms corporation, KDDI, asked Tomato to create an interactive installation for their public gallery space in central Tokyo. The idea explores personal identity within the wider group.

Visitors were invited to be photographed, their portraits to appear on a specially built video screen. Each individual then chose a colour from 256 options that correspond to a video input signal.
Whenever your allocated colour is required by the video signal your face appears on the screen as a giant single pixel.
The video itself was a pre recorded montage of girls (and boys) putting on make-up.
